Santa Lucia Glass Artisans - Sustainable Mouth-Blown Glass
Our glassware, known affectionately as REFRESCO CINTAS, hails from a celebrated glassblowing workshop nestled in the heart of Jalisco, Western Mexico. Under the visionary leadership of Doña Josefina, the workshop not only champions the art of glassblowing but stands as a beacon of hope for the socially disadvantaged. With a steadfast commitment to integration, Doña Josefina paves the way for many to reenter the workforce, offering permanent positions and nurturing the youth through apprenticeships in this esteemed craft.
Crafted from 100% recycled glass, each piece of REFRESCO CINTAS is a testament to sustainability and the art of glassblowing. The use of recycled glass significantly reduces the energy required for production, allowing for a lower melting point compared to new raw materials. This not only conserves energy but also ensures that the glass can be melted and reformed repeatedly without any loss in quality. By choosing to recycle, we are diminishing the demand for raw materials such as quartz sand, soda, and lime, thus lessening our environmental impact.
Every REFRESCO CINTAS glass is a mouth-blown masterpiece, embodying the rich tradition of Mexican craftsmanship. Slight variations in shape, height, and diameter celebrate the individuality of each piece, marking them not as flaws, but as hallmarks of their unique character.
