Mieres Heritage Goblets - Eco-Friendly Artisan Glassware

Our glass originates from a glassblowing workshop located in the Jalisco region of western Mexico, managed by Doña Josefina, who is passionately dedicated to integrating socially disadvantaged individuals. Through offering permanent employment, she facilitates their reentry into the professional world and provides young people with training in a highly esteemed craft: glassblowing. The raw material processed in our partner workshop is 100% recycled old glass.

The benefits of using recycled glass include:
- Recycling glass consumes less energy than producing new glass since recycled glass melts at lower temperatures than the raw materials needed for glass production.
- Glass can be melted down and reused multiple times without any loss of quality.
- Recycling old glass conserves raw materials such as quartz sand, soda, and lime, further reducing the environmental impacts associated with the production process.

Each mouth-blown glass is a unique piece of Mexican craftsmanship. Small variations in shape, height, and diameter are not flaws but highlight the uniqueness of each piece.
